This is a working prototype of a 4" x 6" art book in which each page presents a changing light display, based on which pages have been opened or closed. The displays are a fanciful interpretation of changing landscapes at various times of day and season.
Prototype art book with embedded LEDs.: As each page is opened, a signal is read by a microcontroller, which adjusts the brightness of the 16 LEDs mounted in the book.

Prototype art book with embedded LEDs. View 2.: As the visitor turns the pages, the book is programmed to present views of each page individually, as well as to vary the views seen through the pages.
Eventually the controlling circuit and batteries will be mounted behind the last page, making the book entirely portable.
